Yahoo releases Friends on Fire

Yahoo has released a Facebook application called Friends on Fire that lets people share their location with each other.
The new app, called Friends on Fire, lets users update their location in a variety of ways - any website or mobile app that supports the Fire Eagle API.
The new Fire Eagle Firefox add-on will help to update users’ location-using services like Wi-Fi positioning.
In February, Google launched a similar application of its own called Latitude. Latitude is a Google Maps feature that allows Google account holders to share their location information with their friends and contacts. Yahoo’s “Friends on Fire” is a bid to counter the Search Engine Giant’s Latitude.
