Surprise surprise, not everybody loves you or your blog. There are those who disagree and do so vehemently. Posting critical remarks and comments on your blog.

It’s not a nice thing to see. It can hurt and may even cause you to give up. What do you do?

The fact of the matter is that it is not going to stop. So then how do you deal with it?

• Be prepared it hurts. Admit that it does
• Don’t react
• Come back to it later and read it with a fresh mind
• Be loving and compassionate to your criticiser. Yes I know that’s the hardest part
• Is there anything you can learn from it?
• Recognise that you have limitations and that you’re not perfect
• Understand and accept that you will make mistakes.
• Be honest with yourself. You might need to accept and apologise.
• Be prepared, not all criticism is constructive.
• Don’t hate the critic. You’re a better person.

These are just some quick points that came to mind. But what I am really interested is to learn how you deal with criticism. Do you ignore it? Do you delete the comment? Do you fight back and stand up for yourself, defending yourself at every moment?

Different people have different coping mechanisms. They deal with bad talk and criticism in different way. Some people don’t know how to deal with it at all. It completely floors them.
